Over recent months we’ve been keeping you updated on the progress of construction of the newest expedition ship scheduled to cruise the waters of the Kimberley Coast, the 120-passenger Coral Adventurer. Already, her inaugural Kimberley season is selling very well, but it’s not too late to secure your place with staterooms still available during the peak June / July 2019 season and beyond.
With just eight months to go until Coral Adventurer’s maiden voyage, we’re happy to report that construction at the shipyard of renowned Norwegian shipbuilders VARD is firmly on track, with all vessel steelwork complete and all major equipment (including engines) fully installed. The next steps in the build process include the internal fit-out and of course the all-important float out. After that, it’s time for sea trials and the necessary accreditations before the inaugural cruise departing Singapore on 24 April 2019.
As the ship’s build nears its next phase, Coral Expeditions has released some updated renders of what when can expect when she launches, and it’s fair to say we’re loving what we’re seeing so far. We’re particularly impressed by what appears to be the addition of a covered sundeck (added to the renders since the first designs came to light), surely a popular place for sunset drinks whilst cruising the Kimberley coast.
We’re also enjoying a look at what we can expect in terms of the bars and lounges on board, it’s certainly a very stylish and contemporary look, while also maintaining the feeling and ambience of the line’s other vessels Coral Discoverer and Coral Expeditions I.
We will continue to keep you up to date with Coral Adventurer’s progress and latest designs as she nears completion, and we do recommend securing your place on her inaugural season of Kimberley cruises as soon as possible. Like her sister-ships, Coral Adventurer will operate a series of ten-night Kimberley cruises between Darwin and Broome and vice versa. It’s a very comprehensive itinerary taking in all the major sites of the Kimberley coast (plus plenty of lesser-known gems) including:
