There was a major milestone in the construction of the Kimberley’s newest luxury expedition ship – Coral Adventurer – last week when she was 'floated out' during a ceremony at the Vard Vun Tau Shipyard.
Now that she has touched the water for the first time, work is progressing quickly ahead of her official launch in April 2019, with the interiors of the ship now a major focus. Of course once the interior build is completed attention will turn to the décor and furnishings before a series of sea trials and certifications leading up to the inaugural sold out voyage from Singapore down to Darwin and the 2019 Kimberley cruise season.
Here’s a selection of photos from Coral Adventurer's float out on 7 December 2018.
Billed as ‘the world’s most advanced tropical expedition ship’, Coral Adventurer promises outstanding onboard amenities coupled with the most advanced safety and environmental credentials.
When she commences operations on the Kimberley Coast in May 2019, her 120 travellers will be accommodated in sixty stylish staterooms – over half featuring private balconies. There’s over 1,000 square metres of deckspace (meaning you will never feel crowded), multiple indoor and outdoor bars (including the Explorer Bar on the sundeck), an open-seat dining room featuring panoramic views and the Barralong Room, which has been designed for scientific research and exhibitions.
Australian-flagged, Coral Adventurer will be crewed by a team of up to 48. The maritime crew will welcome you into the open bridge, while the engineering team will offer engine room tours allowing you to take in the inner-workings of this state-of-the-art vessel.
Excursions ashore will be made easy by Coral Adventurer’s flexible fleet of excursion craft, which comprises eight heavy-duty Zodiac inflatables and two Xplorer tenders, a much-loved innovation unique to Coral Expeditions. The Xplorers are cradled on a hydraulic platform – making embarking and disembarking a breeze – and feature individual seating, toilet, sun roof and high-powered engines to take you deep into the Kimberley wilderness and up her majestic rivers.
Coral Adventurer's maiden Kimberley cruise season is selling very quickly (you will need to be fast to secure one of the remaining staterooms!), here's a snapshot as to what is currently available (as of 17 December 2018) for her 2019 season:
